About Us

Why We Love Springers

I realized how unique and special the Springer breed is when I met and adopted my first Springer, Freckles, nearly 30 years ago. I'll never forget how loving and friendly Freckles was when I picked him up!  It was very late, and just separated from his mom, he cried the whole ride home. I wondered if he might be a bit too young, but being so late, I decided we would see how things are in the morning. We got out of the car where he played in the yard for a few minutes before coming into the house where he resumed crying. I laid out a pillow and set him on the floor where he whimpered until I finally I reached down and lifted him onto the bed. He then snuggled down and I cannot recall him ever crying again.

Although originally against the idea of a second dog, a friend had a beautiful black Springer that needed a home and I could not resist! Everyone fell in love with Gumbo immediately and having a playmate made Freckles even happier!

Rosie is an amazing dog! She is a true member of the family! I’m so glad to have been able to use the things I learned with Freckles and Gumbo so many years ago. Rosie is both beautiful and smart! She knows about 20 commands. I also love that Springer’s tend to be such loyal dogs. However, the best part of all, is being greeted each day by loving dog that is so excited I’m home! I’m sure she knows how excited I am to see her too!
